Greater Richmond welcomes CSi Packaging to Henrico County

Dutch firm provides automation, palletizing systems and services to Americas
RICHMOND, VA – The Greater Richmond Partnership announces that CSi Packaging, an advanced manufacturing firm based in the Netherlands, has signed a lease for a center in Henrico County. The company plans to hire 20 employees and invest $260,000 in the new sales and service office.
“We’re excited to call Henrico County, Va., home to our new facility,” said CSi’s Director of Operations Jim Coddington. “The region is known as a robust market for supply chain management. Since packaging solutions is an important piece of that industry, we see CSi as an option to many existing companies not only in the local area, but to all of the Americas.”
CSi supplies fully integrated material handling systems and has installations throughout the world. As a turnkey supplier, the company provides a complete palletizing package from initial consultancy and design, to production, assembly, delivery, installation and commissioning.
“The proximity to existing customers helped sway the company’s decision to relocate to the Richmond Region,” said Rowena Fratarcangelo, Vice President of Business Development at the Partnership. Fratarcangelo managed the regional project. “Dominion Packaging and Amcor, both based in Greater Richmond, are pre-existing customers.”
The company, relocating its office from Florida, also explored a site in North Carolina. The firm’s new space is 7,000 square feet at 5360 S. Laburnum Ave.

As a leader in packaging automation, CSi can expect to grow and prosper in Virginia.”
CSi maintains a strong market position with customers such as producers of fast moving consumer goods, distributors and the packaging industry. The 550-employee company takes pride in the reliability of its products and services, along with the ability to design custom made solutions for its customers.
“For the region’s economic health, it’s important for the business community to play a role in economic development,” said Barry Matherly, President/CEO of the Partnership. “In this instance, local executives were able to recommend Greater Richmond as a desirable location. Often, personal experience is the best sales pitch someone can provide.”
The Partnership worked with the Henrico County Economic Development Authority’s Business Attraction Manager Twyla Powell on the project. The lead originated with Ryland Potter, Managing Director – Europe and the UK, at the Virginia Economic Development Partnership.
