Romano joins GRP as Executive Vice President of Business Development

RICHMOND, Va. (July 10, 2023) – The Greater Richmond Partnership (“GRP”) has hired Jose Romano as Executive Vice President of Business Development. Romano has more than 15 years of experience in business development serving several state organizations as well as corporate clients as a site selection consultant. In this role, Romano will oversee GRP’s business development activities to recruit new and expanding companies to Greater Richmond.
During his time working for the states of Florida, Texas and Kansas, Romano assisted in the location of projects committed to creating more than 35,000 new jobs and more than $10 billion in capital investment.
“As an economic development professional with experience as a site selector, Jose will help GRP navigate new industry trends while strengthening our business development tools and tactics,” said GRP President + CEO Jennifer Wakefield. “We’re excited to welcome him to the team.”
Romano is a graduate of Florida State University and the University of Oklahoma’s Economic Development Institute. In 2017, Romano received a 40 Under 40 Award from the Development Counsellor International.
