Joey is the Business Development Associate Manager for the Greater Richmond Partnership. In his role, he is responsible for performing lead generation and business development activities to attract new companies to Greater Richmond that fall within the region’s key industries.
Joey earned a B.S in Economics from the University of Mary Washington (UMW) in 2021. While he was at UMW, he interned at the UMW Center for Economic Development and conducted project research and analysis for the local edutainment industry. He also swam on the varsity swim team where he captured American records in the 200 Freestyle and 100 IM. After graduation, Joey competed in the 2021 Tokyo Paralympic games where he placed 7th internationally.
He has worked in other economic development offices in Virginia such as Fairfax City and most recently Stafford County where he took part in key initiatives to bolster economic development.
Joey grew up in the City of Hopewell and made trips to downtown Richmond often. He has travelled extensively and considers Richmond to be positively unique with respect to its placemaking and vibrant culture. Joey enjoys adaptive sports, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, live music and trying new food.
