Expansions underway for Hanover industrial spaces

March 11, 2025

Merrit Construction

Four new industrial buildings are planned for the Crescent Business Center in Hanover County. Merrit Construction Services recently secured the building permits to construct the additional properties. Industrial activity is hot in Greater Richmond thanks to the region’s strategic location and affordable building costs. New real estate like the upcoming properties from Merrit Construction Services provide opportunities for new-to-market companies as well as expanding businesses to locate in Greater Richmond.

Hanover’s Crescent Business Center is located along Interstate 95 – the East Coast’s main thoroughfare. The four new buildings will add nearly 200,000 sq.ft. of space with buildings 6 and 7 currently under construction with a completion date in summer 2025.

Continued industrial investment in Greater Richmond proves the region offers strategic business advantages. Recent investments include:

  • SanMar Corporation’s $50 million distribution operation,
  • CEEUS’ $37 million warehouse and distribution facility,
  • Lutron Electronics’ $28 million manufacturing facility, and
  • Walgreens’ $34.2 million micro-fulfillment facility.

According to Walgreens Senior Vice President of Operations Lisa Badgley, “The Greater Richmond area was selected due to its favorable business climate, able workforce and premier location.”
