EVB, a bank owned by Eastern Virginia Bankshares Inc., has purchased 7.02 acres of land in Atlee Station business park in Hanover County.
Joe James, senior executive vice president and chief operating officer, said Friday that the Tappahannock-based bank has not decided what to do with the land.
“We bought it for potential future use,” James said.
EVB bought the property May 19 for $878,500 from Media General Inc., according to county records.
The land is at the corner of Times Dispatch Boulevard and Studley Road. It’s part of an 18.8-acre parcel designated for office use.
The Richmond Times-Dispatch production plant is in the park as is the corporate headquarters for Owens & Minor Inc., a medical supply distributor.
EVB has 25 branches in Virginia from the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula through Richmond, Ashland, Colonial Heights, New Kent County and the Tidewater region.
