GRP claims top Economic Development Organization award from Business Facilities

RICHMOND, VA. (April 20, 2023) – The Greater Richmond Partnership, lead regional economic development organization (EDO) for the City of Richmond and counties of Chesterfield, Hanover and Henrico in Virginia, is proud to announce it was named the top Economic Development Organization for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Initiative from Business Facilities Magazine, a leader in publishing economic development news.
“DEI has become a critical factor in site selection for companies in 2023,” says GRP President + CEO Jennifer Wakefield. “Here in Greater Richmond, Virginia, we have seen the importance of this increase over the years influencing corporate decisions for companies like The LEGO Group and CoStar Group leading to a combined 2,760+ jobs announced. Since we have a very strong diverse workforce, we have leveraged our strengths and will continue to do so.”
GRP is one of 24 overall winners and one of four winners in the Large EDO Awards for communities with a population over 500,000. Full coverage of the awards will be included in the magazine’s May/June issue.
This marks GRP’s second time winning a top EDO award in recent memory. Last year, GRP was named among the top 20 EDOs in the nation according to Site Selection magazine.
