Haley, Beale and Gifford join Partnership Board

January 13, 2016

Altria CFO, Union Bank & Trust CEO chosen as ex officio members

RICHMOND, VA – The Board of Directors of the Greater Richmond Partnership, the regional economic development group serving the City of Richmond and counties of Chesterfield, Hanover and Henrico, announces the appointment of Leslie Haley, of the Chesterfield County Board of Supervisors, William F. Gifford Jr., of the Altria Group, and G. William Beale of Union Bank and Trust, as the newest Board members.

“On behalf of the Board, I would like to welcome Ms. Haley, Mr. Beale and Mr. Gifford to the economic development community,” said Bobby Ukrop, CEO of Ukrop Homestyle Foods, and chair of the Partnership’s Board of Directors. “It is key that the region’s top leaders value the Greater Richmond Partnership’s efforts, and we’re excited to have their support.”

Supervisor Leslie Haley recently won office in Chesterfield County’s Midlothian District. She has practiced law in Virginia for more than two decades, opening her private practice in 2012.

Gifford and Beale were chosen from the organization’s Regional Leadership Circle, which includes executives from 15 private sector investors. The Circle allows the Partnership to engage with more private sector investors in guiding marketing initiatives and shaping the policies of regional economic development.

“It’s very important that the top executives from the business community participate in economic development,” said Barry Matherly, President/CEO of the Partnership. “It impacts their business, their employees and the community we all live in. We’re very excited to have representatives from Altria and Union Bank involved at the Board level, working to recruit peer-level companies to our region.”
