Public Relations Society of America recognizes Lee with Rising Star award

RICHMOND, Va. (May 29, 2024) – The Greater Richmond Partnership (GRP) announces Marketing Manager Jason Lee was honored with the Rising Star award from the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Richmond Chapter.

According to PRSA Richmond, “Rising Star recipients are practitioners who jumped into the profession with both feet — doing incredible work, seeking out learning and mentorship opportunities and immediately looking for ways to get involved and give back.”

Upon completing his master’s program and relocating back to Greater Richmond, Lee secured a full-time role with GRP in 2021 after interning with the team from 2018 to 2019. Lee dove into his work right away, bolstering GRP’s communications, media relations and more. He goes above and beyond to connect with the local community, serving on boards and committees for numerous organizations like the Public Relations Society of America Richmond Chapter, the American Marketing Association Richmond Chapter and the Richmond LGBTQ Chamber of Commerce.

“I had the pleasure of working with Jason while he was a marketing intern,” recalled GRP President + CEO Jennifer Wakefield. “I realized early that Jason was passionate about marketing and communications. Coupled with his strong work ethic and compassion, Jason truly stands out as a Rising Star.”

Lee currently serves on the PRSA Richmond board of directors as Chair of the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee. Lee will be honored at PRSA Richmond’s 77th Virginia PR Awards Cocktail Reception May 30 at the Institute for Contemporary Art at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU).
