Richmond-based CarLotz expanding to Chicago

Richmond-based used vehicle consignment retailer CarLotz Inc. is opening a seventh location in Downer’s Grove, Ill., just outside of Chicago.

The new auto store is the company’s largest retail location with space for more than 500 vehicles and it will be the company’s first location outside of the southeastern U.S.

Founded in 2011, CarLotz has three Virginia locations (in Chesterfield and Henrico counties and Chesapeake), two North Carolina locations (in Charlotte and Greensboro) and a location in Tampa, Fla.
