Swiss evaporative cooling technologies company Condair Group AG sought to expand its North American presence to serve the growing U.S. data center market. With a new manufacturing facility, Condair Group aimed to grow its customer base by increasing production capabilities.
The Greater Richmond Partnership (GRP) worked alongside the Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) and Chesterfield County to secure Condair Group’s new operations in Greater Richmond.
Virginia successfully competed against South Carolina for this project.
Condair Group announced plans to locate a new manufacturing facility in Chesterfield County in June 2024. GRP aided the company in its decision by collaborating with local and state partners to identify real estate options, hosting site visits and regional presentations, providing custom marketing and research materials including employee relocation information, assisting with media relations and more.
Condair Group will benefit from several incentive programs. First, the Virginia Talent Accelerator Program, ranked the #1 customized workforce program in the nation by Business Facilities, will help the company hire and train its new hires. Condair will also receive a $700,000 grant from the Commonwealth’s Opportunity Fund and state benefits such as the Major Business Facility Job Tax Credit and The Port of Virginia Economic and Infrastructure Development Zone Grant Program.
The establishment of the Richmond site will not only bolster our production capabilities but also facilitate closer engagement with our clients, particularly in the data center sector. Oliver ZimmermannCEO, Condair Group AG
Condair Group’s operations are set to begin early 2025.
